AIM WEATHERING SYSTEM
|
|
So what do you use to create your cars? I get this question all the time and am happy to share my tools of the trade. Besides some traditional painting with artist oils, acrylics, and railcolors, I highly recommend the AIM Weathering System. Mark, the owner of AIM, sells a great set of washes and powders that are not only easy to use, but very effective. With a little practice your shiny fleet of cars will become a line of rolling nasty rust-buckets!
Please tell Mark you learned of his product from Griff at Griff's Grime Shop! www.aimprodx.com

A favorite place of mine to shop on the web for N scale items and DCC components. Mike & Robin Fifer make shopping a website like shopping a Local Hobby Shop. Great prices, selection, and cheap/fast USPS Priority Mail shipping! Tell em' Griff sent you!

Spillage Locomotive Works is the place for locomotive repairs and Decoder install work. The owner, Bryan Harries, is an experienced N-scaler and a talented operator of milling machines. If you need an engine to be DCC equipped, Bryan is the guy to do it for you. I like to paint/weather - but I leave the electronics and milling to better hands - none are better than his! Great pricing, great work, and most of all a great person from the "land down under"! Tell him that Griff sent you! GO DCC!

Good train friend of mine that I met on N-scale.net. He goes by the handle "siderod" and lives north of the border in Canada - don't ya know! He has a fun site - especially if you model Canadian trains. Most of all he is a talented layout planner and actually designed my N scale 2x7 paper plant module that I am currently building. His designs are very professional and he works to meet all your desires/concerns - give Siderod Designs a try - and stop all that worrying over planning your dream layout!

Active member of this discussion forum - great resource for all scales, even if not an N-scaler. I model N-scale due to my service in the Army, even though my weathered work for eBay is HO scale. www.nScale.net

Click on the logo to visit my Uncle Tom's site. He is a very talented modeler. He is heavy into the sci-fi models, but from time to time does some other really great pieces. Can't wait to see him get back into trains someday......
